The Fit Institute offers Extreme Performance Training (XPT). If you are interested in learning more about this program, please contact The FIT Institute today.
XPT is a performance Lifestyle that is rooted in an individual’s ability to adapt. It was originated by big wave surfer Laird Hamilton and his professional volleyball player wife Gabriel Reece. It is designed to challenge people in 3 unique ways: breathing, movement and recovery to synchronize the systems of the body, harness the power of the mind and restore functional abilities in each individual.
- Breath: Is the foundation of life, movement and performance. Without quality breathing performance falls short from our general health to sports/athletics. XPT Breathing teaches an individual numerous protocols to help tap into the body’s sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system to increase performance, decrease stress and anxiety, dramatically improve sleep, energy levels, health and make an individual more mindful.
- Movement: Is based on restoring and individuals functional abilities through all forms of fitness and movement based techniques. This can include progressive gym training, low impact pool training, mobility techniques, and high intensity interval training.
- Recover: Is an essential component in reaching new heights of performance. XPT Recovery is rooted in Heat and Cold exposure. Cold exposure includes Cold Water Immersion to stimulate muscular and nervous system recovery, mental resilience and health, pain desensitization, improve cardiac health, and improve immune function to name a few.
