Performance Therapy

Our licensed physical therapists and certified personal trainers have put their heads together to deliver a unique approach to sports performance. We feel there are benefits in each approach that should be combined and implemented to reduce the overall risk of injury while still focusing on the body’s ability to perform at peak levels in the most efficient way. This medical model towards sports performance allows the individual to prepare, perform, and recover from sports and allows our bodies to sustain the countless hours of activities associated with our demanding lifestyles

8-13 years old:

DorsaVi Movement Assessment– We utilize cutting edge wearable technology to assess every athlete prior to starting a performance program. We do this to understand each athlete’s  strengths and weaknesses to assist in developing a plan of care to achieve all your goals. 

Dartfish Video Analysis– We utilize video analysis to capture real time footage of sport specific and functional activities. We use the data to provide visual feedback for parents and athletes, to show baseline strengths and weaknesses and how one may improve over time with proper training and modifications to improve movement efficiency and reduce injury.

CrossFit

Endurance Athlete

  • Work with a  Certified Personal Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach to improve your technique and performance during your marathon or triathlon training. Learn the proper techniques and exercises to avoid overuse and compensatory movements.

    • Cross Training for the Endurance Athlete– Thursdays at 6pm with Rachel Farr
        • Introduce dynamic warm up and proper rest and recovery activities
        • Improve your running form and improve your running performance.

        • Correct common mistakes in running form that can cause muscular imbalance, stress on tendons and ligaments, and, eventually, cause injuries.

HIIT

    • Just be FIT and let us join you on your journey to a new and improved YOU!  Our Certified Personal Trainer Luigi holds a certification as a weight loss specialist and can work with our nutritionist to develop a program that will not only have you seeing results in no time, but feeling energized and rejuvenated to take on each and everyday.
    • We begin our sessions with an onsite consultation to discuss goals, lifestyle and current exercise regimens. Then our certified personal trainers develop individual programs that address your goals and needs. Our personal trainers will be with you every step of the way to help you achieve your goals in a safe and efficient way.

The FIT Institute offers Group Training courses in the Lincoln Park and North Center area!   TFI is offering new members free small group training for one week.  Our small group training has a max capacity of 8 individuals in each class. Smaller group sizes ensure each participant gets more individualized attention,which leads to improved mechanics, body awareness and a reduced risk of injury. Each session will consist of a total body HIIT circuit focusing on functional movement strengthening and can be modified for any fitness level.  Sign up now to reserve your spot!
